Job Description

1.      To ensure availabilty of all raw material by maintaining optimum level of inventory at all time.

2.      To categorize store as per product classification i.e. Quarantine store, Raw material store, Spare parts, Packaging store, Bulk store, Accessories store, Maintenance store, Rejection store, Stationery and unused- items (Obsolete items) etc.

3.      To categorize all items based on value i.e., High value items, mid-value and average value and each value must be approved by MD on yearly basis.

4.      To categorize each item based on delivery time i.e., long delivery time, average delivery time and on same day delivery.

5.      To decide minimum, maximum level of inventory based on last six month consumption and also decide re-order level for each item stored in company.

6.      To devide each item based on consumption i.e. regular used item, often used item and rarely used item.

7.      To ensure that there is sufficient space allocated for each type of items and all items are stored only at one place.

8.      To ensure that each item is stored at designated place only and must be labelled properly.

9.      To ensure that no item is being stored on floor and all items are stacked on pallets or in racks only.

10.  To prepare bin card for each item and ensure that it is being updated on daily basis and its qty must match with stock register.

11.  To ensure traceability is within 5 minutes to look for any item stored in store.

12.  To ensure that no item is stored in store which is not being used in last five years

13.  To reconcile the inventory stock on monthly basis and carry out monthly stock audit and submit the report in writing with MD latest by 3rd of next month.

14.  To monitor the inventory value on monthly basis and ensure that variance for inventory value should not be more than 2-3% on month on month basis.

15.  To formulate inventory budget and ensure that it alsways remains within approved budget.

16.  To ensure that inventory value % fluctuate in proposnate to work load in production on monthly basis.

17.  To prepare MIS on monthly basis and submit inventory analysis report on weekly/monthly basis.

18.  To issue the material as per the requestion slip received from production head only once in a day or keep two hrs window to issue material to prodution one in first half and second in second half.

19.  To ensure that there is no production interruption or delay due to non-availability of material.

20.  To implement JIT (Just in Time) concept wherever possible.

21.  To prepare quality checklist for each item stored in store and ensure that it is duly approved by production and quality head.

22.  To ensure that no rejected material is taken in stock until quality check is being done and approved by quality or user department.

23.  To raise debit, note for all rejected material and inform purchase and Accts in writing in order to ensure that there is confusion at later date with vendor.

24.  To return rejected material to the vendor supplied such material.

25.  To help in assessing the performance and quality of vendors based on various criterion pre-set by company to monitor quality improvement, rate, delivery time & credit terms etc.

26.  To apply 5S within store while managing each activity and submit its monthly audit report to MD.

27.  To work in -co-ordination with purchase and production to reduce inventory cost and save 10% inventory cost in this financial year.
